The South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation regretted that the agreement was reached without consultation with the Palestinians, although the agreement was linked to their future, and noted that the agreement did not guarantee a permanent suspension of the annexation of parts of the West Bank. In accordance with Article 5 of the Comprehensive Peace, Diplomatic and Normalization Treaty between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Israel, the contracting parties enter into bilateral agreements in areas of mutual interest for which they have agreed to the following provisions. These provisions are attached to the treaty and are included in them. The agreements should lead to a final settlement with the creation of an independent Palestinian state. Most Arab states and the international community have hailed these agreements as the beginning of a new era of peace in the Middle East. Sharon and Netanyahu strongly resisted them and pledged “peace for peace,” which successfully terminated the agreements. Subsequently, Mr. Netanyahu also abolished the “two-state solution,” promoted by the George W. Bush administration and widely supported, promising that there would be no Palestinian state under his supervision. Amira Hass wrote that the agreement was the result of the Palestinian Authority`s continued neglect of relations with the United Arab Emirates. According to hate, diplomatic relations were severed in 2012 by the PLO to deny the UAE`s good relations with Mohammed Dahlan, the political enemy of PLO President Mahmoud Abbas. The PNA`s animosity towards the UAE continued to June 2020, when the PLO rejected aid sent by the UAE during the COVID-19 pandemic, by the grounds that it was it was felt without prior agreement and through an Israeli airport.
Hatred is a PLO more concerned with domestic politics than with governance, which contributes to economic decline and strained external relations. Following the agreement signed between the parties on 1 September 2020 in Abu Dhabi between the parties, the parties are cooperating to deepen and rapidly expand bilateral investment relations and place a high priority on the conclusion of financial and investment agreements, while recognizing the key role played by these agreements for the economic development of the parties and the Middle East as a whole. The parties reaffirm their commitment to protecting investors, consumers, market integrity and financial stability and maintaining all applicable regulatory standards. The parties also recognize that they should jointly promote regional economic development and trade in goods and services and strive to promote cooperation in strategic regional infrastructure projects and envisage the creation of a multilateral working group on the Tracks for Regional Peace project. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted reluctantly by calling israel`s agreement of the United Arab Emirates “broad implications” in a press release, and Pakistan`s approach is guided by our assessment of how the rights and aspirations of Palestinians are being respected and how peace, security and stability are preserved in the region. Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, on the other hand, questioned the fact that the agreement would bring stability to the region and said that there would be no stability without a two-state solution and said that the United Arab Emirates had abandoned the Palestinians with the agreement. The State Department then issued a statement on its part in which it stated that it was not critical of the peace agreement, but stressed that it was important for Arab states, especially the Gulf States, to support a Palestinian state in accordance with the two-state solution. Bouthaina Shaaban, political and media adviser to the Syrian president, criticized the agreement in his comments in the Al-Watan newspaper, saying that secret relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel had existed for decades, but now they have revealed it publicly.
